The Planning Division implements the DuPont Comprehensive Land Use Plan, and regulations regarding subdivisions, environmental review, shoreline development and general zoning. The Division works collaboratively with businesses considering locating to DuPont in order to establish a clear path for relocation.
The Division is assisted in these tasks by other city departments, consults including engineers, arborists, attorneys, and a Hearing Examiner. The Hearing Examiner holds public hearings and issues decisions on major projects. Minor project decisions are issued by the Community Development Department Director to improve efficiency. The
plays an advisory role in formulating and revising land use regulations.
