Mission & Purpose of PARCS
P.A.R.C.S. - DuPont is incorporated solely for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, under section 501(c)(3) purposes of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
P.A.R.C.S. – DuPont is dedicated to maintaining a high quality of life for residents of DuPont and beyond.
The purpose of the organization is to enhance the City of DuPont’s recreational services, facilities, and programs through strategic Partnerships Aligning Recreation, Parks, and Community Services. P.A.R.C.S – DuPont:
A. is committed to encouraging the mobilization of financial support of foundations, citizens, and neighborhood groups and organizations;
B. desires to raise funds through public and private partnerships in support of community services, recreational facilities and programs, parks, trails, and open spaces of the City of DuPont;
C. accepts and administers donations, gifts, and bequests, and provides support and assistance in raising funds and promoting special projects and programs as identified and prioritized by the Board (“Board”) of Directors;
D. serves as a resource and network to the individual groups and organizations working to enhance the parks, trails, and recreation programs of DuPont and may provide funding to the City of DuPont through its grant program;
E. provides scholarships and grants to individuals as well as other governmental, corporate, community, or nonprofit agencies and representatives;
F. sponsors, hosts and/or participates in events and activities that promote recreation, community service projects and programs as identified and prioritized by the board.
The resources of P.A.R.C.S. - DuPont are not intended to replace or substitute revenues generated for the annual ongoing maintenance activities for the City of DuPont’s Parks and Recreation program or the Parks and Recreation Agency. P.A.R.C.S. – DuPont operates independently of the City of DuPont.
