THE DUPONT POLICE PINK PATCH PROJECT: FIGHTING CRIME AND FIGHTING CANCER!
***THE 2021 PINK PATCH PROJECT WILL BEGIN AGAIN IN OCTOBER 1st***
Team DPD is proud to partner with the South Sound CARE Foundation on this important project.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women in the U.S. will get breast cancer in their lifetime. In 2020, Team DPD was excited to announce that the DuPont Police Department would be participating in the Pink Patch Project. DPD Officers wore be wearing pink patches, pink badges, and pink patch decals will on patrol vehicles until in order to promote breast cancer awareness within our community.
Pink patches were sold to public for $12.00 per patch, or 2 for $20.00. 100% of the proceeds from the Dupont police pink patch project are be donated to the South Sound Care Foundation.
Team DPD had the privilege of presenting our Pink Patch Project proceeds to Dr. Frank Senecal and Executive Director Sally Glover of the South Sound CARE Foundation. The total donation was $1070.00, which was the result of our DPD pink patch sales. While visiting DPD, Dr. Senecal took the time to share deeply touching stories about how his team is bringing much needed treatment to cancer patients in our surrounding area. It was a great reminder, especially now, of the selfless work our healthcare workers provide to those in need. We are very thankful for our partnership with the South Sound CARE Foundation.
The South Sound CARE Foundation is a local cancer research and support organization that provides residents with cancer treatment options, which may be otherwise unavailable to them. South Sound CARE’s board includes cancer survivors and medical professionals who strive to eradicate this deadly disease by working together to bring clinical trials to the South Sound region.
