Jensen Park is named after the Jensen family, one of the first families in the area with the DuPont Company. Sarah and Nels lived in the tar-paper house with their 5 children at the Old Town 1843 Fort Nisqually site until a house became available in Historic Village on DuPont Ave.
The Park was once part of the Garry Oaks Linear Park system.
