Policing In America

Policing

(06/26/2020)

Yesterday, Chief Newman, Deputy Chief DeHart and Corporal Noel addressed Joint Base Lewis-McChord Soldiers from the 51st Expeditionary Signal Battalion.  They answered questions about the current state of policing in America; candid conversations regarding concerns within our society, racial equality, and law enforcement's role in these, and other current issues.  DuPont Police's close partners, Lakewood WA Police Department Police Chief Mike Zaro and JBLM Police Department Police Chief Robert Miller, along with the Provost Marshal, also participated.  With over 60 years of combined military experience between the three of them, this was an exceptionally meaningful experience for Chief Newman, Deputy Chief DeHart and Corporal Noel.  Team DPD looks forward to continuing a strong partnership with the 51st Expeditionary Signal Battalion and all stakeholders at JBLM about these and other very important issues currently impacting our society.  Thank you "MERCURY 6 & 7" and the rest of the outstanding young women and men of the 51st Expeditionary Signal Battalion: "The Army's Oldest and Finest!"
