CITY COUNCIL VACANCY
Councilmember Rex Bruce has a planned resignation as of December 31, 2019, and his seat will be vacated on the DuPont City Council Position No. 3. This is a highly responsible legislative position for a municipal corporation with a budget in excess of 10 million dollars.
Eligible citizens must be registered voters in DuPont and have been a resident for at least 12 months prior to being appointed to City Council. Councilmembers receive compensation in the amount of $600.00 per month.

The City of DuPont’s December 17, 2019 Council Workshop and December 24, 2019 Regular Council Meeting have been cancelled.

CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
The purpose of the Civil Service Commission is to implement, administer, and direct a civil service system that is consistent with state laws for sworn personnel of the DuPont Police Department and uniformed personnel of the DuPont Fire Department. The commission provides sworn police and uniformed fire employees with a quasi-judicial process for hearings on appeals concerning disciplinary actions, examination and testing, and other related issues.
Pursuant to RCW 41.12.030 and RCW 41.08.030, each member must be a resident of the City of DuPont for at least three (3) years immediately preceding City Council appointment and a registered voter in Pierce County. At the time of any appointment, not more than two commissioners shall be adherents of the same political party. The term of office is six (6) years.
LODGING TAX ADVISORY COMMITTEE (LTAC)
The City is seeking interested individuals for appointment to the City's Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). The LTAC was established for the purpose of recommending to the City Council on how to use the City lodging tax revenue for tourism promotion or tourism facility purposes. By state law, at least two members are representatives of businesses required to collect the tax, two members are persons involved in activities authorized to be funded by the tax, and one member is an elected official of the City. PARKS & RECREATION AGENCY
The City is seeking interested residents for appointments to the City's volunteer Parks & Recreation Agency. Eligible applicants must be residents of the City of DuPont for a minimum of one year. With the cancellation of its regularly scheduled meeting (12/19/19), the Tree Board will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at 6:00 pm at DuPont City Hall, 1700 Civic Drive, DuPont, WA 98327, to approve minutes; and discuss tree nursery update, street tree and sidewalk program update, Edmonds Village screening, and Ross Memorial Plaza improvements.
